1. LUGARD ROAD IN HONG KONG – FREE AND AMAZING VIEW
If you want to experience the famous and beautiful view of Hong Kong Lugard Road is the place to go. It is a free walking path with spectacular views of the city.
The walk on Lugard Road is easy, and you do not need any special equipment, just a comfortable pair of sneakers, a bottle of water, and mosquito repellent. It is a stunning walk that offers an amazing free view of Hong Kong.
You have two options to get there: taking the tram or the bus. However, please note that these are not free. If you’re in the mood for hiking, you can walk to Lugard Road, but be prepared for quite a challenging hill.
2. AVENUE OF STARS: A FREE WALKING PROMENADE
It is a free walking promenade and one of Hong Kong’s iconic sights with a beautiful view of the skyline. Avenue of Stars honors those who have greatly contributed to Hong Kong movie theatre.
There is also a Bruce Lee statue and every night at 8 PM you can watch a Symphony of Lights, a free 10-minute light and sound show.
3. MAN MO TEMPLE – FREE TEMPLE EXPERIENCE IN HONG KONG
Man Mo Temple is a beautiful temple in Hong Kong. It is hidden among all the tall skyscrapers and is a true little gem worth visiting. It is a peaceful temple in the middle of the bustling city.
The entrance is free so it is a great spot to visit in Hong Kong.
4. CENTRAL-MID-LEVELS ESCALATORS: FUN AND A FREE RIDE
It is the longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world. We did not expect it to be this long. Be prepared for a long ride, because it covers about 800 metres in distance.
It is a fun and totally free activity to do in Hong Kong.
Just remember, that you have to walk all the way down when you reach the top.
5. TEMPLE STREET NIGHT MARKET IN HONG KONG
This market in Hong Kong comes alive as the sun sets. It will offer you a glimpse into the city’s energetic street culture. You can wander through a maze of stalls that sell everything from trendy gadgets to local artworks and souvenirs.
Enjoy the lively atmosphere filled with the sounds of bargaining and local chatter. Every visit is unique and the experience is totally free. You will only spend money if you can’t resist buying some souvenirs.
6. CHI LIN NUNNERY AND NAN LIAN GARDEN – FREE BEAUTIFUL GARDENS
If you have some extra time in the city and want to visit a scenic garden this is the place to go. The garden is full of beautiful Bonsai trees.
You can also visit Chi Lin Nunnery, a beautiful Buddhist temple just across the street from the Nan Lian Garden. Entrance to both gardens and the nunnery is free, so it is a great place to spend some time in Hong Kong.
It’s also a great spot to enjoy some nature in the heart of the concrete jungle. If you are not staying in that area you will need to walk or spend a few dollars on the public transport.
7. GO ON A FREE WALKING TOUR
