WHERE TO STAY IN HUE?

We stayed at the Meliá Vinpearl Hue, one of the highest-rated hotels in the city. It stands as the tallest building in Hue, offering amazing views of the city and the surrounding nature.

The hotel is very clean and in a perfect location. You can find vegan food for breakfast, and we believe the price-performance ratio for this hotel is excellent. Check the prices here.

WHAT TO DO IN HUE?

Hue, a city in Vietnam, offers an abundance of sights to explore Start your adventure at the Historic Citadel, also known as the Imperial City of Hue. From 1802 to 1945, under the Nguyen Dynasty’s rule, this city served as Vietnam’s capital.

VEGAN RESTAURANTS IN HUE

CHAY CORNER VIETNAMESE DUMPLINGS

This restaurant was our favourite in Hue. It’s located away from the city centre, so having your own motorbike to get there is ideal.

Chay Corner offers an extensive menu with so many amazing options that we ended up trying four different dishes – each one was incredible. The food, home-cooked by a lovely older woman, offers a truly authentic experience you can’t miss when visiting Hue.

AN NHIEN GARDEN VEGETARIAN

The vegetarian restaurant itself is set in a fine, large house surrounded by gardens, with seating available beside a pool, making it an ideal place if you want to enjoy your lunch in nature.

They pride themselves on making tofu and all sauces and pastes in-house using fresh, organic ingredients. The food is made to order, ensuring each dish is as fresh as possible. The prices are more on the higher side, but the taste is amazing. It was one of the best restaurants with vegan options in Hue.

TỊNH TÂM VEGAN

It is a vegan restaurant in Hue. They adapted the traditional Vietnamese cuisine to meet vegan standards. The dishes are filled with aromatic herbs, fresh vegetables, and tofu-based dishes.

We ordered pho, which didn’t quite become our favourite. However, based on reviews, perhaps we should have tried something else. Nonetheless, it stands as a fantastic vegan option in the city.

CHALENG THAI STEET FOOD

They serve lots of traditional Thai dishes like fried rice, pad Thai, and Tom Yum soup. We chose the pineapple fried rice and asked for a vegan version.

The staff understood what vegan meant, so they made our dish without fish sauce and eggs. You must visit this place if you love Thai food.

SÂN MÂY HUẾ

It’s a vegetarian restaurant set in a traditional wooden house, decked out with dark hardwood furniture. They offer plenty of vegan options on their menu. There’s a lot to explore, from stir-fried tofu or seitan to a delightful hot pot.
