Did You Know That You Can Find Great Vegan Restaurants in the City of Valencia? Check Them Out Here

Valencia is a beautiful and vegan-friendly city in Spain. For me personally, the best time to visit Valencia is in February and March because there is not a lot of tourists, and the weather can be warm in the sun. My favourite part of that time of the year is that fresh oranges are growing on trees all over the city.

The centre of Valencia is full of stunning and colourful buildings, and it is sitting right on the beautiful Mediterranean coast.

THE MYR MARQUÉS HOUSE HOTEL

In Valencia, we stayed at Marqués House Hotel. The location is right in the centre of everything but on a quiet street so there is no noise at night. The hotel is new, the room and bathroom were nicely decorated and very clean. The hotel has a bar and when we were there, they offered us a welcome drink.

I cannot forget to mention the rooftop terrace. We sadly discovered it on our last day but if we knew about it before we would spend a few hours in the warm winter sun up there. You can check the hotel here.

I am not sure about the vegan breakfast options at the hotel because it was not included in our room price. But you can find many good vegan breakfast restaurants and cafes in the area.

WHAT TO SEE IN THE CITY OF VALENCIA?

Valencia is famous for the City of the Arts and Sciences which is a modern architectural structure/building worth the visit. If you are more drawn to older architecture, there is La Lonja de la Seda which is a Gothic building that was used for silk exchange.

You can also walk to a place full of cute shops, bars, and restaurants called Barrio del Carmen.

You cannot miss Jardí del Túria which was once a river that they then turned into nine-kilometre park where you can see locals relaxing and working out.

Central Market in Valencia is the place where locals buy food. It is not made for tourists like in Barcelona. I liked the place a lot and they even have some food stands which offer vegan food.

Because of the beautiful palm tree promenade, you have to visit Malvarrosa Beach. I recommend that you rent a bike if you do not like to walk a few kilometres every day. In the city of Valencia, you can also use public transportation or a taxi/uber. Vegan restaurants that I tried during my visit:

RAW COCO GREEN BAR

Is a very cosy and nicely decorated restaurant. It is offering a healthy and organic menu. RAWCOCO juices are all cold-pressed and seasonal.

There are some vegan dishes like acai bowl and porridge for breakfast and coffee with plant milk. You can also have avocado toast, tomato toast, Thai tofu wrap, and healthy bowls. I really like the ambient of this restaurant.

LA TASTAOLETTES IS A VEGAN AND VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT

You can find this restaurant in the trendy part of the city of Valencia. They are offering vegan and vegetarian food made with local ingredients.

You can order tapas like homemade croquettes, Vietnamese rolls with satay sauce. For the main meal, you can choose from four different healthy Buddha bowls, wraps, and plates. And don’t forget about the dessert!

ALMALIBRE ACAI BAR VALENCIA

Almalibre acai bar in Valencia has the best vegan acai bowl in the whole city. You can even buy frozen acai there to take home. You can create your own Acai bowl or choose from the menu. Just check if all the toppings you are choosing are vegan.

They also offer vegan croissants, avocado toast, hummus toast, and a vegan cake. You can also eat lunch there like patatas bravas with vegan mayo, a lot of different vegan burgers, vegan hot dogs, and wraps. The place is not fully vegan but it offers a lot of vegan options. Our waiter there was also very friendly!

VEGETARIAN AND VEGAN RESTAURANT OSLO

In Valencia, there are three vegetarian and vegan restaurants that have the same owner: Oslo, Malmö, and Copenhagen. And I think all of them are worth the visit.

The restaurant Oslo is located in the El Carmen neighbourhood in a building from 1850. The restaurant is very beautiful and quite big. On their menu vegan dishes are all marked. All the food was really delicious.

For starters, you have many different options to choose from, like crispy puff pastry potatoes with homemade sauce and vegan croquettes. For the main course, you can have a vegan burger, quesadillas or spicy pasta, and many other dishes. You can also order a tasting menu and a children’s menu. I also loved their collection of vegan vines.

BEGREEN SALAD COMPANY VALENCIA

I found this restaurant by accident. It is not fully vegan, most of the dishes are vegan but some of them are vegetarian. We chose to eat breakfast there and both me and my boyfriend ordered smoothie bowls and one hummus toast to share. Everything was good. Next time I visit Valencia I will also try their lunch menu.

DEMPANADAS VALENCIA

And I have to mention Dempanads Valencia, they offer delicious vegan empanadas. Not all the empanadas are vegan, you just have to ask which ones are.

They are incredibly good. Fillings you can choose from are tofu and wakame algae, vegetables and legumes, seitan and mushrooms, soya, and humita with almonds.

The restaurant I would also recommend when travelling to Valencia is Aloha Vegan Delights which is a small restaurant offering delicious vegan burgers. The restaurants saved on my bucket list for my next trip to Valencia are Les Maduixes, La Mandragora, and Khambu.

The city of Valencia is really worth the visit. It has a unique and vibrant energy and so much to see. Everyone can find something to do there for at least a couple of days. I would recommend visiting the city of Valencia for at least 4 days. It has a lot of charm, amazing architecture, palm trees, friendly locals, sunshine, and vegan food, what more can you wish for?
