This is our 7-day Laos itinerary. For us, it was the perfect amount of time in each destination. If you have the chance to stay longer in Laos, we recommend adding a couple of days to each of our itinerary stops.

Laos had been on our bucket list for quite some time. It is a beautiful country that many travellers overlook, mainly because it does not have direct access to the ocean. But Laos has so much to offer that you will not even think about missing the beach while you are there.

You could easily spend two weeks exploring Laos, but we chose to split our time. We decided to spend one week in Laos and the other in Cambodia. It turned out to be a fantastic combination for a two-week trip.

We created this itinerary based on our recent journey to Laos.

HOW TO GET TO LAOS?

The easiest way to reach Laos is from Bangkok, especially if you are starting your itinerary in Luang Prabang. Bangkok Airways operates direct flights between Bangkok and Luang Prabang.

You can read more about Bangkok Airways and our experience with them here.

LAOS ITINERARY: 4 DAYS IN LUANG PRABANG

We begin our itinerary in Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in northern Laos. The city is famous for its well-preserved blend of traditional Lao and French colonial architecture.

We spent four nights in Luang Prabang, which felt like the perfect amount of time to explore and soak in the atmosphere.

WHAT TO DO IN LUANG PRABANG?

Day One: Kuang Si Waterfall

The most famous activity in Luang Prabang is visiting Kuang Si Waterfall. You can get there by joining an organised tour or renting a motorbike and riding there yourself. It is not very close to the city, but the ride is enjoyable as you pass through local villages.

The waterfall itself is beautiful and definitely worth a visit. The best time to go is early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

If you are up for a bit of a hike, there is also a treehouse café near the waterfall. It takes some effort to reach, but the experience is well worth it.

Day Two of our Laos Itinerary: The Living Land Company

Another activity we absolutely loved was visiting The Living Land Company, a rice farm where you can learn all about rice production in Laos.

The experience is interactive, fun, and eye-opening. They even provide transportation. It is one of the highest-rated activities in Luang Prabang and a must-do on this itinerary.

->Book the rice farming experience here.

Day 3: Phousi Hill and night market

Phousi Hill is a hill right in the centre of Luang Prabang. For us, the best time to visit was in the middle of the day. Although it was the hottest time, there were no large tour groups, so we had the place almost to ourselves. The hike is short, and the views from the top are absolutely worth it.

Every evening, Luang Prabang’s night market comes to life. It is the perfect place to support local artisans, buy souvenirs, and enjoy some delicious street food.

Day 4 of our Laos itinerary: Orange Robe Tours & UXO Visitors Center

A visit to the UXO Visitors Center is a must if you want to dive deeper into the history of Laos. Here, you will learn about the devastating impact of war on Laos and its lasting consequences.

We also had an amazing experience with Orange Robe Tours, where we walked through a temple with a former monk. He shared insights about his life and daily rituals while he was a monk.

This tour is highly rated, and we recommend it if you want to understand more about the local culture. You can check the availability here.

A visit to the morning market is also a must!

Since you are spending four nights in Luang Prabang, you will have plenty of time to enjoy all these activities and still have time to relax by the pool.

If you are also looking for the best restaurants in Luang Prabang, check out our guide here.

WHERE TO STAY IN LUANG PRABANG?

We stayed at the amazing Satri House, a beautiful colonial-style hotel. It has incredible gardens and a lovely pool. It is a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring.

The rooms are decorated with old-world charm. Ours was very spacious with a large terrace. The location is also excellent, just a short walk to the Old Town. –>Book this beautiful hotel here.

LAOS ITINERARY: 2 DAYS IN VANG VIENG

We continue our 7-day Laos itinerary in Vang Vieng, a small town in central Laos known as the adventure capital of the country. Vang Vieng is packed with outdoor activities.

You can go kayaking, hiking, caving, rock climbing, and do so much more. It is the perfect place for adventure lovers!

WHAT TO DO IN VANG VIENG?

There is so much to do in Vang Vieng that if you really want to experience the area, it is best to stay for at least three nights. However, since we only have a 7-day itinerary, we will stick to just two days.

Day 1: Explore and Sunset Hot Air Balloon Ride

The best way to start your adventure is by renting a motorbike and exploring the area at your own pace. If you want to make the most of your time, consider booking a sunset hot air balloon ride—the views are breathtaking.

Day 2 of our Laos itinerary: Hike and Blue Lagoon 3

After breakfast, head to Nam Xay Viewpoint, a famous hike known for the two motorbikes at the top. Be prepared—this hike is not for the faint-hearted! Wear proper trainers and sportswear, and don’t forget to bring a water bottle. If you run out, you can buy water at the bottom of the hill.

The hike is short but very challenging. You will be sweating buckets, and at some points, you will need to climb. We hiked in the middle of the day when it was less crowded, but the heat was intense. Still, the views at the top are absolutely worth it!

After the hike, head straight to Blue Lagoon 3 to cool off in the refreshing water. Here, you can enjoy fun activities like a rope swing for jumping into the lagoon. There’s also a restaurant where you can grab lunch and relax.

If you still have energy, you can try zip-lining, kayaking, hiking another hill, or visiting more blue lagoons for a swim.

Want to know our favourite restaurants in Vang Vieng? Check out our guide here.

WHERE TO STAY IN VANG VIENG?

We stayed at Riverside Boutique Resort, which is probably the best accommodation in town. The views from this resort are absolutely breathtaking!

I highly recommend booking a room with a view so you can wake up to the most stunning scenery right from your bed. The resort also has a beautiful pool by the river, offering the perfect spot to relax and take in the incredible surroundings.

If you’re looking for comfort, great service, and amazing views, this is the place to stay! ->Book here!

LAOS ITINERARY: 1 NIGHT IN VIENTIANE

We ended our 7-day Laos itinerary in Vientiane because we had a flight from Laos to Cambodia from here.

Many travel blogs say that Vientiane is not really worth visiting, but for us, a one-night stay was just the right amount of time to get a feel for the city. Two nights would have been too much.

WHAT TO DO IN VIENTIANE?

Since we had limited time, and because there is not much to see in Vientiane, we kept it simple. We visited the Patuxay Victory Monument and the Vientiane Night Market. It was interesting to see how Vientiane differs from Luang Prabang and Vang Vieng.

Every city in Laos has its own unique vibe!

WHERE TO STAY IN VIENTIANE

We stayed at Mintra Hotel, which was a great choice in a perfect location. Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance, and the hotel is also close to the night market. The highlight? A rooftop infinity pool with stunning city views! ->Check availability

HOW TO GET AROUND LAOS

The best way to travel around Laos is by high-speed train, which connects all the cities mentioned in this itinerary. We have written a detailed guide about our experience buying tickets and riding the train—you can read it here.

OUR EXPERIENCE IN LAOS

The locals are very friendly, and we felt safe everywhere we went in Laos. The food is delicious, with some dishes similar to those in Thailand and Vietnam. However, Laos also has its own unique specialities, like sticky rice and larb.

We also highly recommend using an eSIM card that you can get with Airalo.

Prices in Laos are not as cheap as in Vietnam. This might be because many restaurants offer food mainly to tourists and charge higher prices. The same applies to accommodation; we found Vietnam to be much more affordable.

Some of our best travel memories come from Laos, and we hope this 7-day itinerary helps you make the most of your trip!

In this guide, we’ll share our top Bangkok travel tips to help you make the most of your visit. Bangkok is one of our favourite cities in the world, so we’ve put together a list of eight tips to ensure you have the best travel experience possible.

No Thailand travel plan is complete without exploring Bangkok. It is a vibrant city with delicious restaurants, cultural landmarks, bustling street life, and exciting nightlife.

Our carefully selected travel tips will cover transportation, getting around, and choosing the best places to stay in Bangkok. These tips are perfect if you are a first-time visitor or visiting the city often.

1. TRAVEL TIPS FOR GETTING FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE CITY OF BANGKOK

One of the best travel tips is to use the Airport Rail Link when travelling from Suvarnabhumi Airport to the city. This train connects to the BTS Skytrain, making it the fastest and cheapest way to reach your destination.

The journey takes only 26 minutes and costs just 45 baht (around $1.29). The train departs every 10–15 minutes and operates daily from 5:30 AM to midnight. Using this option is a great travel tip to save both time and money. It ist fast, budget-friendly, and efficient.

2. ONE OF THE BEST TRAVEL TIPS FOR BANGKOK: ALWAYS HAVE CASH

One of our crucial Bangkok travel tips is to always carry cash. When you arrive at the airport, withdraw cash for your Airport Rail Link tickets, as they cannot be purchased with a card.

Many people make the mistake of standing in line for tickets, only to find out they cannot pay with a card, wasting valuable time. If you forget to withdraw cash, ATMs are available near the ticket office.

While most places in the city accept cards, public transport, and street vendors often only accept cash. This tip will save you from inconvenience during your travel to Bangkok.

3. USE A RABBIT CARD TO TRAVEL AROUND THE CITY

One of the helpful Bangkok travel tips is to get a Rabbit card. This card can be used for the BTS Skytrain and other transit systems. It’s ideal if you are staying in the city for several days. For short visits, single-entry tickets are available.

->Get your Rabbit Card here.

4. ONE OF THE BEST TRAVEL TIPS: USE BTS SKYTRAIN

Traffic in Bangkok is notorious, so one of the best travel tips is to use the BTS Skytrain. It’s quick, affordable, and ideal for exploring the city. Tickets can be bought with cash or a Rabbit card.

One extra tip for Bangkok, use Google Maps for navigating the city. It is the easiest and it gives you all the instructions on the BTS routes and timetables.

5. TIPS FOR TRAVELLING FASTER IN BANGKOK: USE GRAB SCOOTERS

One of the best Bangkok travel tips is using Grab, a ride-hailing app, to book scooters. Bangkok’s heavy traffic can slow down cars, but scooters can quickly navigate through congested streets. This tip is perfect for those wanting to save time while travelling in the city.

Riding on the back of a motorcycle is also a fun experience, as the skilled driver is navigating the way through the traffic jam. It is perfect if you are a little bit adventurous.

6. TIPS FOR STAYING CONNECTED DURING YOUR BANGKOK TRAVEL

Stay connected by following this travel tip: use Airalo to purchase an eSIM before you land. Alternatively, you can buy a local SIM card at the airport. However, finding vendors that accept cards can be tricky, as most of them only accept cash.

Using Airalo will save you time for more exciting Bangkok travel adventures.

->Get your eSIM here.
->You can get an even better deal on Klook.

7. TOP TIPS FOR ENJOYING BANGKOK’S ROOFTOP BARS

One of the top Bangkok travel tips is to visit a rooftop bar. The views of the city are stunning, especially at sunset or late at night. Book in advance, especially on weekends, to secure a spot at the most popular locations.

Our favourite rooftop bar so far is Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar. Keep this in mind: while the views are amazing, most rooftop bars in Bangkok can be pricey.

8. BANGKOK TRAVEL TIPS FOR CHOOSING A HOTEL

Hoi An is surrounded by beautiful rice fields and offers many delicious vegan restaurants. This charming and historic town is our favourite city in Vietnam.

Hoi An is truly a unique Vietnamese city, close to the ocean and beautiful nature. Every night, the town transforms into a magical place. Colorful lanterns light up the streets and the river. This tradition is especially beautiful during the monthly Lantern Festival, but you can enjoy the sight any evening.

WHERE TO STAY IN HOI AN?

We found the perfect place to stay in Hoi An, the hotel is Little Oasis – An Eco-Friendly Hotel & Spa. It is ideally located just outside the old town with beautiful river views. It was a true oasis and one of our favourite accommodations in Vietnam.

The hotel offers beautifully designed rooms and suites. Some of the rooms have the most amazing views of the river and water buffalo. Two rooftop pools offer views of nature. In this hotel, you will find a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and authentic local experiences.

When we come back to Hoi An, we will definitely book the Little Oasis Hotel again.

The staff goes above and beyond to ensure every guest has a comfortable and memorable stay at the Little Oasis Hotel.

VEGAN FOOD IN HOI AN

Our top tip? Learn the Vietnamese word “chay.” This term means “vegetarian” or “vegan” in English and stands for plant-based meals without animal products. Knowing this word will make exploring vegan restaurants in Hoi An a breeze. You can also go on a vegan food tour with Momo travel company!

Here are our favourite restaurants:

SHAMBALLA VEGETARIAN BISTRO

Shamballa Vegetarian Bistro is a hidden gem in the beautiful city of Hoi An. This vegetarian restaurant offers mostly vegan dishes. With locations all over Vietnam, their food is one of our favourites.

Their menu takes you through different regional cuisines, allowing you to explore the traditional flavours of Vietnam. We tried a few different dishes, and all of them were amazing.

Our favourite from the menu was “Tales of the Old Town,” which included steamed coconut rice cakes and a Hoi An specialty, Cao Lau. This is a restaurant you cannot skip when visiting this town!

ELLIE’S CAFE HOI AN

Ellie’s Cafe Hoi An is a family-run café serving healthy, clean-eating dishes with many vegan options. We ordered scrambled tofu and a smoothie bowl. The scrambled tofu was good, but the smoothie bowl was our favourite—it was the best we had in Hoi An.

Other options on their menu include peanut butter toast, Buddha bowl, falafel bowl, and oatmeal pancakes. You can also order my favourite iced-blended coconut coffee in a vegan version.

PEANUTS – VEGAN VIETNAMESE FOOD IN HOI AN

At Peanuts, you can savour traditional Vietnamese vegan and vegetarian cuisine. They use locally grown ingredients whenever possible, making it one of our favourite restaurants in Hoi An.

The portions are huge, and the food is amazing. You can choose your base and then pick from a variety of delicious sides. We also tried their sourdough vegan chicken banh mi.

Their selection of desserts is delightful, but my favourite item was their Vietnamese coconut coffee. It was the best one I had in the whole of Vietnam.

V VEGAN RESTAURANT IN HOI AN

V Vegan Restaurant is located right in the heart of Hoi An’s old town. If you can get a table outside, the ambiance is amazing, as you sit on the walking street and watch people stroll by.

Their menu offers a wide selection of delicious vegan dishes. We tried several and loved most of them. Our favourite was the tofu and mushroom bun noodle curry.

ROSIE’S CAFE

Rosie’s Cafe is a famous breakfast spot in Hoi An. The cafe is named after the main character Rosie Dunne, from the movie “Love, Rosie.”

Although the menu is not entirely vegan, it is carefully curated with both taste and nutritional value in mind, using fresh and local ingredients. All their smoothie bowls are vegan. For breakfast or brunch, you can also enjoy tofu scramble, oatmeal, vegan pancakes, and a veggie wrap.

MINH HIEN VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT

Minh Hien is a vegetarian restaurant offering mostly vegan options. They serve a local specialty called white rose, which is not found elsewhere. We tried it, and it was delicious.

We also ordered fresh spring rolls and pho. The restaurant is affordable with great food, and you can even take a cooking class there.

LE HOI VEGETARIAN BREAD

Le Hoi offers one of the most affordable vegan dishes in Hoi An. Their vegan banh mi, a Vietnamese sandwich, combines a crispy, airy baguette filled with various ingredients, offering a blend of French and Vietnamese flavours. It is a delicious mix of savoury, sweet, and spicy elements.

ROM VEGETARIAN BISTRO

ROM Vegetarian Bistro offers mostly vegan dishes with generous portions and very tasty food. You can try many traditional Vietnamese dishes as well as other Asian cuisines. The menu offers a lot of variety, and the staff are very friendly.

THON DA AM – VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT AND COFFEE SHOP

Thon Da Am is a charming coffee shop and vegetarian restaurant in Hoi An’s old town. I recommend going upstairs to eat on their cute wooden balcony overlooking the pedestrian street.

Though their menu does not offer a lot of options, we tried the pho, and it was very good.

MANGO CAKE IN HOI AN

While strolling through Hoi An’s old town, you’ll come across street vendors selling mango cake, also called Banh Xoai. We learned that it is vegan. Despite its name, it has nothing to do with mango.

It is more like mochi, filled with sweetened and crushed peanuts. By buying it, you also support local vendors. It is a great and very affordable snack.

VEGAN COOKING CLASS IN HOI AN

We attended the famous Chickpea Eatery vegan cooking class in Hoi An. The class began with a tour of the local market, which was our favourite part. You learn so much about the history of Hoi An and the local culture, and they introduce you to the vegan food available in the market and in Vietnamese cuisine.

During the class, we cooked fresh spring rolls, a Vietnamese pancake, and a salad. The cooking class was fun, and we left with a bag full of food. The only thing we would change is having a bit more cooking and less chopping of raw veggies. Otherwise, it is a cooking class you cannot miss when visiting Hoi An!

In Hoi An, you will find a blend of traditional flavours and modern culinary creativity in vegan food. If you decide to eat at a dedicated vegan restaurant or explore the food markets, you will love the food here. Taking a cooking class in Hoi An is also a fun thing to do.

New York has a lot of vegan restaurants, and it is one of our favourite cities to visit. There are countless things to see and do. In this guide, there are just a few of our favourite vegan restaurants in New York.

WHERE TO STAY IN NEW YORK

Hotels in New York are expensive, so be prepared for this to be the most costly part of your trip. For the same amount of money, you could enjoy a luxurious experience in other parts of the world.

We chose to stay at the M Social Hotel New York because we wanted beautiful views and a good location. The hotel even has a terrace overlooking Times Square. We found the location very convenient, and the view from our room was great.

I recommend staying on the top floor for amazing New York views. ->You can check the prices here.

BEST VEGAN RESTAURANTS IN NEW YORK

Portion sizes in most New York City restaurants are large. Even sharing a starter was sometimes too much for us to finish our main course. At the beginning of our trip, we always ordered a starter, but after two days, we realised we couldn’t eat that much, so we started ordering only main courses.

Vegan restaurants in New York are also not very affordable, but in an expensive city, this is to be expected. The best way to find all the vegan restaurants in the city is by having a local SIM card. We used the Airalo app with an eSIM card, which was affordable and had a very good connection.

SPICY MOON – EAST VILLAGE – NEW YORK VEGAN RESTAURANT

Spicy Moon was our favourite vegan restaurant on our New York City trip. We visited the East Village location, but they also have spots in the West Village and Bowery.

Their menu offers many amazing vegan Szechuan dishes. We tried the Dan Dan Noodles and the Vegetable Wonton Soup. The soup was one of the best I’ve had in a long time, especially on a cold, rainy day. The noodles were also delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try all the other dishes.

PLANTA QUEEN NOMAD- NEW YORK VEGAN RESTAURANT

Planta Queen is a popular and trendy vegan restaurant in New York. They care about environmental sustainability, ensuring all their produce and supplies are delivered in reusable containers to reduce waste.

We decided to try this restaurant on a Friday night for dinner. The ambiance was really nice. I recommend making a table reservation if you decide to visit them on weekends.

From their sushi menu, we tried the crispy mushroom hand roll, spicy tuna hand roll, and dragon roll. It was some of the best vegan sushi we have ever tried.

Next, we ordered Singapore noodles and General D’s cauliflower, which were both good. For dessert, we shared a cookie, but it was not the best vegan cookie we have ever had. You also have to try some of their amazing cocktails.

UT47 MANHATTAN

UT47 Manhattan is a breakfast and brunch restaurant in New York. While it is not entirely vegan, it has amazing vegan breakfast options.

Their menu features various vegan sandwiches and bagels. You can also order plant-based soy chicken tacos or mandu. We had a bagel with tofu bacon, vegan egg and cheese, avocado, tomato, and a vegan BLT. It was a great start to our New York trip, and they served excellent coffee with oat milk.

VITO’S SLICES AND ICES – NEW YORK VEGAN PIZZA

You haven’t truly been to New York if you haven’t had a pizza slice. Vito’s only offers one vegan pizza, a classic margherita with vegan cheese, but it was great, especially with a Diet Coke. You really have to visit this place for the retro vibes.

LUANNE’S WILD GINGER – NEW YORK VEGAN RESTAURANT WITH ASIAN FLAVOURS

LuAnne’s Wild Ginger is a vegan Asian restaurant with many locations across the city. We visited the one in Little Italy/Soho. Their menu offers a variety of great dishes, from different types of noodles to rice bowls and more.

For a starter, we shared the stuffed tofu skin wraps, which were delicious. Then we had vegan Pho. The Pho was very good, but the portion was so large that we couldn’t finish it. It was the biggest Pho I’ve ever had.

LIBERTY BAGELS MIDTOWN – NEW YORK VEGAN BAGELS

Bagels are a must-try when visiting New York City. Liberty Bagels is one of the most popular spots, known for its rainbow bagels. They offer many different types of vegan tofu cream cheese, including vegetable, plain, scallion, cinnamon walnut, blueberry, and strawberry.

We tried a sesame bagel with spinach and artichoke tofu cream cheese. Just keep in mind that the waiting line is quite long, but it moves quickly. We were even able to find a seat inside.

JAJAJA MEXICANA VEGAN

Jajaja Mexicana is a vegan Mexican restaurant with several locations across New York. We visited the one in the West Village. We were thrilled to find a plant-based Mexican restaurant in the city.

For dinner on a weekend, I recommend making a reservation because the place is packed. We tried the enchiladas mole and chorizo burrito. The burrito was our favourite – you have to try it!

THE ORIGINAL BUDDHA BODAI KOSHER VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT

The menu at Buddha Bodai is vegetarian, with most dishes being vegan. We ordered dumplings, steamed rice rolls, and steamed buns for starters.

They were okay, but our favourite was the main dish: tofu skin with vegetables. It was so good that next time we visit the city, we will go straight back for that.

RED BAMBOO VEGAN RESTAURANT IN NEW YORK

Red Bamboo has an extensive menu featuring many different dishes, from sandwiches and burgers to noodles. They have a lot of faux meat dishes, and we heard that their vegan chicken is amazing.

We tried the Southern fried chicken, which is herb-breaded soy chicken with two drumsticks and a choice of two sides. The other dish we ordered was coconut chicken. I must say, the food was really good. For dessert, we had a cheesecake, which was also delicious.

VAN LEEUWEN’S VEGAN ICE CREAM IN NEW YORK

On a hot day, we came across Van Leeuwen, which has many locations in New York. It’s an ice cream shop that also offers vegan options. Some of the plant-based flavours include dark chocolate fudge brownie, strawberry shortcake, cookies & cream, chocolate chip cookie dough, and peanut butter brownie honeycomb.

We tried the strawberry shortcake and a spring special with spirulina. If you like heavy and sugary ice cream, you’ll love it, but it wasn’t our favourite.

PRET A MANGER VEGAN IN NEW YORK

For a quick plant-based bite, you can stop by one of the many Pret A Manger locations across New York City. You can try their rainbow veggie sandwich or a falafel and hummus wrap.

Hanoi is a vegan paradise, the city offers a wide variety of plant-based restaurants. You will be able to try charming, intimate cafes or sophisticated dining spots, there is something for everyone in Hanoi!

Our top tip? Get to know the Vietnamese word “chay.” This term, meaning “vegetarian” or “vegan” in English, stands for plant-based meals without animal products. Spotting this word will make exploring vegan dining options in Hanoi a breeze.

WHERE TO STAY IN HANOI?

Hanoi offers many luxurious and affordable hotels. Our top recommendation? Make the Old Quarter your home base. Nestled in the historical heart of Hanoi, you will find that everything worth seeing is just a short walk away, allowing you to explore the city’s authentic charm.

Our favourite hotel that we stayed in the city is the Peridot Grand Luxury. This hotel is stunning, with an amazing rooftop pool and bar that promise both relaxation and city views. It is also very clean and comfortable.

Our next best option, where we spend two nights, is the Meritel Hanoi. This hotel also features a rooftop bar and pool, offering a perfect blend of luxury and leisure. It is also a little bit more affordable.

For those on a tighter budget, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered. The Golden Rooster Hotel is a more wallet-friendly option without skimping on comfort and convenience. This hotel is also very beautiful, but it does not offer a pool.

VEGAN FOOD IN HANOI

Discovering plant-based restaurants in Hanoi is easy. There are a lot of restaurants that are vegan-friendly. If you want a quick, wallet-friendly meal or are planning a special evening out, Hanoi has you covered.

Here are some of our top vegan restaurants in Hanoi:

BANH MI CHAY – HANOI VEGAN

It is a popular spot in Hanoi to have vegan banh mi. Banh mi is a Vietnamese sandwich that combines a crispy and airy baguette filled with a variety of ingredients, offering a blend of flavours from French and Vietnamese cuisines. It is a delicious mix of savoury, sweet, and spicy elements.

With 20 different filling combinations to choose from, deciding can be tough but exciting. Beyond the banh mi, they also serve a variety of other snacks. It is a great spot if you want to experience some traditional Vietnamese food.

HANOI VEGAN BANH MI

Tucked away in a narrow alley, this hidden gem is a must-visit vegan restaurant in the city. This was probably one of the best meals we had in Vietnam.

We had banh mi and pho, which is a classic Vietnamese dish consisting of broth, rice noodles, and herbs. It is known for its aromatic spices like star anise, cinnamon, and cloves. In plant-based restaurants, the meat is usually replaced with tofu. This restaurant is also very affordable.

KATZE – HANOI VEGAN & VEGETARIAN

When wandering through Hanoi’s Old Quarter, making a stop at Katze Vegan & Vegetarian is a must. It is a bit hidden, up on the second floor of a building, but luckily, some friendly locals helped us find the entrance. It is one of the best-rated vegetarian restaurants in Hanoi.

What’s really special here is that you get more food than what you order. The owners give you extra goodies like tofu, rice, veggies, and soup for free. So, you end up having a big, tasty meal. It is definitely a place you should check out in Hanoi, it is also very popular.

GREEN INN – HANOI VEGAN RESTAURANT

Nestled in the lively heart of the city, Green Inn serves up traditional Vietnamese cuisine with a vegan twist. All the dishes are made with quality ingredients with clear origins.

Try their hearty pho or a crunchy banh mi. In Green Inn, you will find a rich menu that features a variety of noodles, curries, and even a hot pot.

ƯƯ ĐÀM CHAY IN HANOI

If you’re in the mood for something fancier, Ưu Đàm Chay is the spot. This restaurant stands out with its stylish decor and a wide, varied menu. It is pricier than other vegan and vegetarian places in Hanoi, but for a special date night, it is perfect.

The staff is really attentive, asking about food preferences and allergies to help guide you through the menu. Because of that, you get exactly what you are looking for, especially if you want to make sure that the food you order is really vegan. The food is generally good, though not every dish hits the mark considering the price.

2 CREAM – HOMEMADE ICE CREAM

Dreaming of ice cream in Hanoi? We stumbled upon this shop right by the lake, serving up a selection of vegan flavours—a rare find in Vietnam, making us super excited about our choices.

They offer salted caramel, vanilla Oreo, mango, peanut butter, pistachio, almond milk chocolate, and raspberry sorbet. So, if you are looking for a sweet treat that is also vegan, this is the place to go!

CHAYFOOD AND DESSERT

ChayFood and Dessert is a great place for vegan food, healthy sweets, and local dishes in Hanoi. You can start with tasty appetizers like soup, salad, spring rolls, and porridge. For the main meal, there is a lot to choose from, including pho, banh mi, pesto pasta, Thai curry, and hotpots.

Our favourites are the fresh spring rolls with peanut butter sauce and the brown rice noodles with mushrooms. These dishes are not only delicious but also good for you.

IVEGAN SUPERSHOP IN HANOI

It is a cool, modern vegan cafe that is all about living healthy and balanced. It is not just a place to eat; they’ve got a restaurant, a co-working space, and a coffee shop all in one. And it is not only in Hanoi; you can find them in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City too.

Their menu is packed with awesome breakfasts like overnight oats and smoothie bowls. But that’s not all—they offer lots of healthy salads and burgers, plus tasty sourdough toast with different toppings. And their drinks menu is just as big as their food menu, so there is something for everyone.

CÁI MÂM BISTRO SIGNATURE VEGAN

This restaurant brings a top-notch dining experience, focusing on nutrient-rich meals that are as good for you as they are for the planet. This restaurant takes vegan eating to the highest level, with even their wines being vegan-friendly.

You’ll find a diverse menu here, from fresh spring rolls and green curry to innovative dishes like tofu ragu with quinoa. There’s also a buffet option, giving you the chance to sample a wide variety of dishes for a fixed price.

WHAT TO DO IN HANOI?

Hanoi, a city where chaos meets charm, offers countless unforgettable experiences. It stands out as a truly unique destination. One of the highlights of our trip was exploring the famous train street.

For an authentic experience, head to Railway Café Tuan. You can find their WhatsApp number on Google to message the owner about the train schedule.

Another adventure not to be missed is a one-night cruise to Halong Bay. We chose the spectacular Capella cruise, and it did not disappoint.

They served us delicious vegan food on board, making it a highly recommended choice for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty of Vietnam while enjoying great food.

Hue, once the capital of Vietnam, known for its beautiful old buildings and history, is also a place where you can find lots of tasty vegan meals.

But there’s more to Hue than just its past. Hue is a lively city by the calm Perfume River. It offers beautiful views, busy markets, and delicious food.

There are also a lot of amazing things to see, like the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Imperial City of Hue, or the Incense Village, but we must admit that the Incense Village is good only for a few nice photos and nothing more.

More and more restaurants in Hue are serving vegan dishes that everyone can enjoy, not just vegans. They use fresh ingredients to create traditional Vietnamese dishes without any animal products.

In this article, we will talk about our six favourite vegan options in Hue.

WHERE TO STAY IN HUE?

We stayed at the Meliá Vinpearl Hue, one of the highest-rated hotels in the city. It stands as the tallest building in Hue, offering amazing views of the city and the surrounding nature.

The hotel is very clean and in a perfect location. You can find vegan food for breakfast, and we believe the price-performance ratio for this hotel is excellent. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Check the prices here.

VEGAN RESTAURANTS IN HUE

We spent a few nights in Hue, and there were quite a lot of vegan restaurants available. We did not expect that we could try a new restaurant for every meal that we had. Let’s explore some of the best spots in Hue where you can enjoy delicious vegan food.

CHAY CORNER VIETNAMESE DUMPLINGS – HUE VEGAN RESTAURANT

This restaurant was our favourite in Hue. It is located away from the city centre, so having your own motorbike to get there is ideal.

Chay Corner offers an extensive menu with so many amazing options that we ended up trying four different vegan dishes – each one was incredible. The food, home-cooked by a lovely older woman, offers a truly authentic experience you can’t miss when visiting Hue.

AN NHIEN GARDEN VEGETARIAN – BEST IN HUE VEGAN

The vegetarian restaurant itself is set in a fine, large house surrounded by gardens, with seating available beside a pool, making it an ideal place if you want to enjoy your lunch in nature.

They pride themselves on making tofu and all sauces and pastes in-house using fresh, organic ingredients. The food is made to order, ensuring each dish is as fresh as possible. The prices are on the higher side, but the taste is amazing. It was one of the best restaurants with vegan options in Hue.

TỊNH TÂM – HUE VEGAN

It is a vegan restaurant in Hue. They adapted the traditional Vietnamese cuisine to meet vegan standards. The dishes are filled with aromatic herbs, fresh vegetables, and tofu-based dishes.

We ordered pho, which didn’t quite become our favourite. However, based on reviews, perhaps we should have tried something else. Nonetheless, it stands as a fantastic vegan option in the city.

CHALENG THAI STEET FOOD – HUE VEGAN OPTION

They serve lots of traditional Thai dishes like fried rice, pad Thai, and Tom Yum soup. We chose the pineapple fried rice and asked for a vegan version.

The staff understood what vegan meant, so they made our dish without fish sauce and eggs. You must visit this place if you love Thai food.

SÂN MÂY HUẾ

It’s a vegetarian restaurant set in a traditional wooden house, decked out with dark hardwood furniture. They offer plenty of vegan options on their menu. There’s a lot to explore, from stir-fried tofu or seitan to a hot pot.

If you are not very hungry, you can also pick something lighter, like a salad or soup. Make sure to visit the restaurant at least 2 hours before closing time, as they might not welcome guests an hour before they close.

QUÁN CHAY THANH LIỄU

This is an affordable vegetarian restaurant that also offers vegan options. You can enjoy fresh spring rolls, noodle soup with a flavourful broth, hot pot, and many other delicious dishes.

Make sure to ask the staff if the food you’re ordering is vegan and not just vegetarian.

We stayed 2 nights in Hue, but we think that 3 nights would be ideal. With 3 nights, you do not have to rush to see all the important sights in this area. And with a few extra hours, you can relax more and enjoy the good vibes of this city.

Hue is a great place for anyone looking to enjoy vegan food. With lots of restaurants to choose from, you can taste many delicious dishes that are good for you and the planet.

WHAT TO DO IN HUE?

Hue, a city in Vietnam, offers many amazing sights to explore. Start your adventure at the Historic Citadel, also known as the Imperial City of Hue. From 1802 to 1945, under the Nguyen Dynasty’s rule, this city served as Vietnam’s capital.

The complex is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the past, it served as the political, cultural, and religious centre of Vietnam during its time as the capital. The best way to learn about the Historic Citadel is to take a walking tour.

Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Mausoleums of Emperors Minh Mang, Tu Duc, and Khai Dinh, each offering a unique glimpse into the country’s past.

The easiest way to visit all the sights in Hue is with a motorbike. If renting a motorbike is not your thing, you can easily visit all the royal tombs with an organised private tour with English English-speaking driver on Viator.

Additionally, the abandoned waterpark at Thuy Tien Lake is worth a visit.

However, one place you might consider skipping in Hue is the Thuy Xuan Incense-making Village. It’s a street lined with incense shops, but its main appeal seems to be inviting tourists to pay for photoshoots there.

If you are a long-time vegan traveller or just want to try something new, Hue’s restaurants will not disappoint. Come and explore the flavours of this historic city!

We visit Venice every year, and every time we come, more and more restaurants are adding vegan options to their menu. Venice is known as one of Italy’s most romantic cities, where charm and beauty are at every corner.

Venice is a destination that has charm all year round, whether you are visiting during the Carnival season or in the summer. In this guide, we have created a list of our favourite vegan restaurants in Venice.

WHERE TO STAY IN VENICE

One of our favourite accommodations in Venice is Palazzo Veneziano. It stands out as one of the city’s top-rated 4-star hotels. It is in a great location, and the rooms are very clean and stylishly decorated. Some of the rooms also have amazing views.

Not to mention, the staff goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. You can check the availability here.

If you are looking for something more affordable, Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo is an excellent choice. It is in a good location and the hotel offers cosy accommodations at an affordable rate.

If you are a luxurious traveller, Eight Venezia in Venice is the right choice for you. The hotel is super elegant with traditional and modern elements mixed together.

If you want to learn about the most important sights in Venice, you should check out the Highlights tour, which is one of the best-rated tours in the city. But our favorite experience is the Venice Secret walking tour.

BEST VEGAN RESTAURANTS IN VENICE

CREPES HOUSE BY PEPE

This restaurant is one of the best-rated in Venice. It’s small and cosy, but they serve amazing vegan food.
They are famous for their sweet and savoury pancakes, which come in many different versions.

Our personal favourite is the savoury pancake with sweet and sour tofu, roasted vegetables, hemp seed pesto, tomatoes, and cabbage. This is definitely a place you should not miss when visiting Venice.

LA TECIA VEGANA

At La Tecia Vegana, you will find the best organic, vegan food in Venice. They offer tasty Italian dishes like risotto, lasagne, ravioli, and gnocchi, with some gluten-free options too.

Try their seitan roast, tempeh stew, or burgers. And don’t forget to save room for their delicious tiramisu. Make sure to book ahead for this popular spot!

DAL MORO’S IN VENICE

Dal Moro’s is our favorite go-to pasta place in the city. Tucked away in a small alley, it’s a hidden gem that’s incredibly popular. They have two vegan options available.

WHERE TO STAY IN KAOHSIUNG

JÒHŌ Hotel was one of our favourite hotels in Taiwan. It is one of the best-rated hotels in Kaohsiung. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel is very clean and in a good location. One of our favorite aspects of the hotel was the staff – they are friendly and helpful, making you truly feel welcome.

The best part about JÒHŌ Hotel in Kaohsiung is that they served us a delicious two-course vegan breakfast. You just need to tell the staff that you are vegan. If you are eating plant-based, this is the best hotel in Kaohsiung for you. Look at how amazing our breakfast was every day:

BEST VEGAN RESTAURANTS IN KAOHSIUNG

Here is our list of the best vegan restaurants in the city. Kaohsiung may not look like the best destination for plant-based eaters, but we found some great options.

LONGQUIAN VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT

It’s a great vegetarian restaurant in Kaohsiung with mostly vegan dishes. Just make sure to check for eggs before you order. The owner is friendly and helpful, but ordering might be a bit tricky without an English menu.

The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The lunch menu is limited, but there are more options available for dinner.

DOUBLE VEGGIE IN KAOHSIUNG

It’s a buffet restaurant in Kaohsiung with lots of food options. Most dishes are vegetarian, and they also have tasty vegan choices.

It is not the most affordable option, but it is great if you are staying in JÒHŌ Hotel because it is just a few minutes away. Just keep in mind that Double Veggie has better vegan options for lunch and dinner than for breakfast.

There is also a Ruifeng Night Market, one of the best night markets in Kaohsiung to visit, but we are not sure if there are any vegan food options there, so don’t go hungry. It is a great experience to visit this night market and see how locals spend their evenings.

One of the most important places to visit in Kaohsiung is the Lotus Pond. There, you will find the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas and the Spring and Autumn Pavilions.

A day trip to remember is to go to Cijin Island. It is located just a short ferry ride from Kaohsiung. This little island feels like a world away. You can rent a bike there and explore the area. There are also a few cute cafes in the area.

The Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum is located outside the city. The complex is so big that you need a few hours to explore, but if you get hungry, there is also a vegetarian restaurant offering vegan dishes.

If you would like to learn more about where to go and what to see in the city, check out our guide about the top 9 things to do in Kaohsiung.

Kaohsiung is the biggest city in the South of Taiwan. The ideal time to stay in the city is for two or three days. This is just the right time to visit the most important sights and experience some of the local culture. Everything is easily reachable by public transport.

Even better options would be to have a rented motorbike so you can experience more if you do not have a lot of time in the city. You just need to learn a few traffic rules that apply only to motorbikes.

Hong Kong is my favourite city, and here is the guide to my top 10 favourite things to do. The city is safe and clean. It also has fascinating architecture and delicious food.

I recommend staying for at least 4 nights, if you have time, ideally would be to stay at least one week, because there is so much to see and do.

The easiest way to travel around the city is with an Octopus card. You can use the card for all public transport and entrances. If your accommodation is strategically located, you can also do a lot of sightseeing on foot. Here are my top 10 things to do in Hong Kong:

AVENUE OF STARS

Avenue of Stars is a walking promenade and one of Hong Kong’s iconic sights, with a beautiful view of the skyline. It honors those who have greatly contributed to the Hong Kong movie theatre. It is a great place to soak up some sun and beautiful views.

There is also a Bruce Lee statue, and every night at 8 PM, you can watch a Symphony of Lights, which is a 10-minute light and sound show.

THE PEAK TOWER – SKY TERRACE 428

Sky Terrace 428 is one of the must-visit places in Hong Kong. You can go there by taxi or the Peak Tram. I loved my experience with the Peak Tram. It is just a short ride uphill on a beautiful tram with glass ceilings, so you can see the amazing view.

The view from the top is breathtaking, and you get many beautiful photo opportunities. You can buy tickets for Sky Terrace and the Peak Tram in advance with Klook and avoid waiting in line.

My top tip for visiting the Sky Terrace 428 is to pick a day with clear skies so you will have the best view possible.

LUGARD ROAD IN HONG KONG

When you are visiting the Sky Terrace 428, you can also visit the Lugard Road. The walk on Lugard Road is easy, and you do not need any special equipment, just a comfortable pair of sneakers, a bottle of water, and mosquito repellent.

It is a stunning walk that offers an amazing view of Hong Kong.

MAN MO TEMPLE

Man Mo Temple is a beautiful temple in Hong Kong. It is hidden among all the tall skyscrapers. It is a peaceful temple in the middle of the city. There is no entrance fee.
