No trip to Thailand is complete without exploring Bangkok. It is an amazing city with a rich history, bustling street life, and exciting nightlife. You will find amazing restaurants, great massages, shopping, and friendly locals.

To elevate your experience in the city, this hotel also has a pool with breathtaking views. Plus, its location right next to a metro station makes getting around the city effortless.

BEST VEGAN RESTAURANTS IN BANGKOK

Here is a list of our favourite vegan restaurants in Bangkok:

VEGANERIE CONCEPT

With multiple locations across Bangkok, Veganerie Concept is likely to have a branch near your hotel. Their menu is packed with mouthwatering Western and Thai vegan options. They serve an all-day breakfast that includes treats like smoothie bowls, chia pudding, and pancakes.

For brunch, you can have comforting dishes such as avocado tacos, portobello lasagna, and pizza sets. Their lunch and dinner menus are just as varied.

You could eat there every day and still discover something new! Our top pick? The massaman curry with baked roti is an absolute must-try.

VISTRO VEGAN CAFÉ & RESTAURANT BANGKOK

Vistro Vegan Cafe and Restaurant in Bangkok offers you a creative selection of dishes. They are inspired by global cuisine, each with a local twist.

The flavours here are unforgettable, and you will have no problem finding something delicious to try.

For starters, try their unique vegan sushi options or their flavourful dumplings. Their noodle dishes are a delight, and their desserts are impossible to skip! If you’re travelling with kids, Vistro Cafe also has a dedicated kids’ menu to cater to little ones.

BROCCOLI REVOLUTION SUKHUMVIT 49

Broccoli Revolution is a plant-based eatery and smoothie bar that prioritizes organic and locally grown vegetables. They have several locations across Bangkok, so visiting one during your stay is easy.

Their menu is a mix of different cuisines. You will find dishes like sushi, quesadillas, and gyoza. For mains, they offer international favourites such as Italian pasta and Cambodian-inspired tofu with vegetables.

NINGS MANGO STAND

Did you know that mango sticky rice is usually vegan in Thailand? It’s one of our all-time favourite desserts, and Ning’s Mango Stand in Bangkok serves an exceptional version of it.

The mangos are perfectly sweet, while the sticky rice and sauce are full of flavour. It really is a must-try and affordable treat! You will find mango sticky rice all over the city.

GOLDEN STATE VEGAN RESTAURANT IN BANGKOK

This colourful vegan restaurant in Bangkok is known for its flavour-packed plant-based sushi and upbeat atmosphere. They also offer an excellent selection of cocktails, as well as refreshing non-alcoholic options.

Their unique sushi creations are a highlight and an essential stop for sushi lovers. If sushi isn’t your thing, don’t worry, they also serve a variety of dishes such as noodles, salads, and tacos. It is a place you need to visit not only for the food but also for the good vibes.

KAEK KAO KUA RESTAURANT

Kaek Kao Kua specializes in traditional Thai dishes made entirely vegan. We tried their Kao Soi, and it was absolutely delicious! The food is flavourful, and their coconut ice cream is a refreshing treat you shouldn’t miss.

The atmosphere feels more like dining at someone’s home rather than a traditional restaurant, but this cosy, informal setting added to the charm for us. The restaurant is a little bit hard to find because from the outside it looks like a residential house.

MANGO VEGETARIAN & VEGAN BANGKOK

Mango Vegetarian & Vegan offers hearty portions, so you’re guaranteed to leave with a full belly. Their menu features traditional Thai dishes such as fried rice, pad Thai, and curries, along with many other options.

Vegan dishes are clearly marked, and vegetarian meals can easily be made vegan upon request. This is a great spot for authentic, plant-based Thai cuisine.

BONITA CAFE AND SOCIAL CLUB

Bonita Cafe and Social Club is a vegan café in Bangkok with a unique focus on promoting a healthy and peaceful lifestyle. They even host monthly running sessions!

Their all-day breakfast menu includes options like a club sandwich or a hearty English breakfast. For lunch or dinner, you can choose from burgers, rice dishes, salads, or pasta. Their desserts are not only delicious but also nutritious, with some being gluten-free as well.

These restaurants showcase the diversity and creativity of Bangkok’s vegan food scene—there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

WHAT TO DO IN BANGKOK?

Thailand is famous for Muay Thai boxing, and Rajadamnern Stadium is one of the most famous venues for watching the fights. If you want to experience something local, the Stadium hosts fights almost every day.

->Check the ticket price and availability here.

When visiting Bangkok, you need to stop at the magnificent Grand Palace and Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan. If you are into shopping, there are countless shopping centres across the city.

Don’t miss the chance to experience the fun nightlife that Bangkok is famous for. The best thing you can do in the evening is to have a drink at a rooftop bar. Our favourite options in Bangkok are Rooftop Bar Tichuca, Yào Rooftop Bar, and Octave Rooftop Bar.

In this guide, we’ll share our top Bangkok travel tips to help you make the most of your visit. Bangkok is one of our favourite cities in the world, so we’ve put together a list of eight tips to ensure you have the best travel experience possible.

No Thailand travel plan is complete without exploring Bangkok. It is a vibrant city with delicious restaurants, cultural landmarks, bustling street life, and exciting nightlife.

Our carefully selected travel tips will cover transportation, getting around, and choosing the best places to stay in Bangkok. These tips are perfect if you are a first-time visitor or visiting the city often.

1. TRAVEL TIPS FOR GETTING FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE CITY OF BANGKOK

One of the best travel tips is to use the Airport Rail Link when travelling from Suvarnabhumi Airport to the city. This train connects to the BTS Skytrain, making it the fastest and cheapest way to reach your destination.

The journey takes only 26 minutes and costs just 45 baht (around $1.29). The train departs every 10–15 minutes and operates daily from 5:30 AM to midnight. Using this option is a great travel tip to save both time and money. It ist fast, budget-friendly, and efficient.

2. ONE OF THE BEST TRAVEL TIPS FOR BANGKOK: ALWAYS HAVE CASH

One of our crucial Bangkok travel tips is to always carry cash. When you arrive at the airport, withdraw cash for your Airport Rail Link tickets, as they cannot be purchased with a card.

Many people make the mistake of standing in line for tickets, only to find out they cannot pay with a card, wasting valuable time. If you forget to withdraw cash, ATMs are available near the ticket office.

While most places in the city accept cards, public transport, and street vendors often only accept cash. This tip will save you from inconvenience during your travel to Bangkok.

3. USE A RABBIT CARD TO TRAVEL AROUND THE CITY

One of the helpful Bangkok travel tips is to get a Rabbit card. This card can be used for the BTS Skytrain and other transit systems. It’s ideal if you are staying in the city for several days. For short visits, single-entry tickets are available.

->Get your Rabbit Card here.

4. ONE OF THE BEST TRAVEL TIPS: USE BTS SKYTRAIN

Traffic in Bangkok is notorious, so one of the best travel tips is to use the BTS Skytrain. It’s quick, affordable, and ideal for exploring the city. Tickets can be bought with cash or a Rabbit card.

One extra tip for Bangkok, use Google Maps for navigating the city. It is the easiest and it gives you all the instructions on the BTS routes and timetables.

->You can also get a one-day unlimited BTS Skytrain pass.

5. TIPS FOR TRAVELLING FASTER IN BANGKOK: USE GRAB SCOOTERS

One of the best Bangkok travel tips is using Grab, a ride-hailing app, to book scooters. Bangkok’s heavy traffic can slow down cars, but scooters can quickly navigate through congested streets. This tip is perfect for those wanting to save time while travelling in the city.

Riding on the back of a motorcycle is also a fun experience, as the skilled driver is navigating the way through the traffic jam. It is perfect if you are a little bit adventurous.

6. TIPS FOR STAYING CONNECTED DURING YOUR BANGKOK TRAVEL

Stay connected by following this travel tip: use Airalo to purchase an eSIM before you land. Alternatively, you can buy a local SIM card at the airport. However, finding vendors that accept cards can be tricky, as most of them only accept cash.

Using Airalo will save you time for more exciting Bangkok travel adventures.

->Get your eSIM here.
->You can get an even better deal on Klook.

7. TOP TIPS FOR ENJOYING BANGKOK’S ROOFTOP BARS

One of the top Bangkok travel tips is to visit a rooftop bar. The views of the city are stunning, especially at sunset or late at night. Book in advance, especially on weekends, to secure a spot at the most popular locations.

Our favourite rooftop bar so far is Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar. Keep this in mind: while the views are amazing, most rooftop bars in Bangkok can be pricey.

8. BANGKOK TRAVEL TIPS FOR CHOOSING A HOTEL

Since traffic in the city is a major issue, one of the best travel tips is to book a hotel near a BTS station. This ensures easy access to public transport and avoids the hassle of dealing with Bangkok’s heavy traffic.

With the list of our favourite top 10 things to do in Phuket, we will help you experience unforgettable memories in this tropical destination.

1. MONKEY HILL VIEWPOINT

Visiting the Monkey Hill viewpoint is one of the top things to do. Monkey Hill is situated near Phuket Old Town and is a free tourist attraction. If you are not afraid of the monkeys, bring a few bananas and they will love you.

You can walk uphill and interact with the monkeys that are living there. You also get a great view from the top of the hill. Have a good pair of walking shoes and water with you.

2. PHUKET OLD TOWN

In Phuket Old Town, you can step back in time and wander through the charming streets. You can also admire the well-preserved architecture and street art. Do not forget to try the local street food and shopping. There are also many cute coffee shops.

Phuket Old Town is also close to the Monkey Hill viewpoint, so you can combine both activities.

3. PARTY ON BANGLA ROAD IN PATONG

Phuket is probably most famous for its Bangla Road in Patong. This street offers the best nightlife and parties in the area. Bangla Road is the best place to go if you are in a party mood.

There are many bars and nightclubs on both sides of the street. If you are more adventurous, you can check out ping-pong shows, which are tourist shows specifically famous in Thailand.

4. VISIT PHUKET’S NIGHT MARKETS

Naka Weekend Market, Malin Plaza, Patong Otop Shopping Paradise, and Chillva Market are the most famous night markets. Exploring the night markets in Phuket is not only about shopping and dining but also a place to experience the local culture.

You should definitely experience Thailand’s night markets. It is one of the best things to do when visiting.

5. BIG BUDDHA

Standing tall at Nakkerd Hill, the Big Buddha is an iconic landmark that offers panoramic views of the island. Explore the sacred grounds and witness the impressive 45-meter-tall statue, a symbol of peace and enlightenment.

You can also go on a half-day tour by Travstore that takes you to some of the island’s most iconic attractions, including Big Buddha.

6. FREEDOM BEACH

We visited many beaches in Phuket, and the best one was Freedom Beach. The easiest way to reach it is with a motorbike. After you park and pay a small fee, you have to walk down the hill to get to it. The ocean is clear, and the water is turquoise.

There is also an option to rent a taxi boat to get to the beach. The hike back up to the parking can be quite challenging in the tropical heat.

7. DELICIOUS THAI FOOD IN PHUKET

Thailand is a country of delicious food. You have to try some of the best traditional dishes, which are: pad Thai, tom yum, green curry, massaman curry, and mango sticky rice. These are just a few of our favourites.

You can find traditional Thai food almost everywhere on Phuket Island. The best way to try different food is also to visit one of the famous night markets.

8. DAY TRIP TO PHI PHI ISLANDS

The most memorable part of the vacation was a one-day trip to the Phi Phi Islands. We booked our trip with Simba Sea Trips, and I could not recommend them more.

The guides are very friendly and helpful. They take you to see the famous Maya Bay, and at the end of the day, you stop at Coconut Island for dinner. This day trip to Phi Phi Islands is unforgettable.

You can book a similar experience from Phuket to Phi Phi, Maya Bay, and Bamboo Island on Klook.

9. NAI HAN BEACH

Nai Han is a great beach to visit in Phuket. The waves are strong, so it is not the best for swimming, but you can refresh yourself in the shallow water. Nai Han Beach is good for surfers.

It was one of our favourite beaches because of the good atmosphere.

10. THAI MASSAGE

When you think of Thailand, one of the first things that comes to mind is a traditional Thai massage. It is a practice that is deeply rooted in the country’s culture and history. Because Phuket is a popular tourist destination, you can find many places to experience Thai massage.

In Phuket, you can find Thai massage in luxurious spa resorts or simpler, and affordable street massages.

There is so much to do and see in Chiang Mai, you could easily spend more than 5 nights in this area. If you have more time, you could stay in Chiang Mai for weeks.

The Old City of Chiang Mai has narrow streets filled with temples, traditional houses, and vibrant markets. You can experience the city on foot or hop on a motorbike to discover all the hidden gems.

WHERE TO STAY IN CHIANG MAI?

The city has many affordable and luxurious hotels, but our top favourite choice is Aksara Heritage. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff is amazing. When we come back to the city, we will definitely stay here again. It is not the cheapest, but a true oasis in the Old City of Chiang Mai.

->Check the availability here.

Chiang Mai is our favourite city in Thailand, and here are the best 10 things to do on your trip:

1. VISIT ELEPHANT RESCUE PARK

The Elephant Rescue Park was built especially for elephants that live with them permanently. When you visit the rescue park, you see how well the elephants are treated here. They purchase and rescue elephants from circuses, the logging industry, mistreatment camps, hardworking sites, and unfortunate accidents.

You have half-day tours and full-day tours. It is a place that cares for the elephants. Here is the official website. There are many different sanctuaries around Chiang Mai, but not all of them are really good for the elephants. This was my favourite and one of the most memorable experiences from visiting Thailand.

2. SUNDAY NIGHT MARKET IN CHIANG MAI

My absolute favourite thing you have to do is visit the Sunday Night Market. Chiang Mai is known for its night markets, but this one is the best I have ever visited. A big part of the Old Town gets closed, and the locals put out stalls with everything you can imagine.

With the most delicious Thai food, souvenirs, and massages. It is packed with tourists and locals both enjoying the evening.

3. STICKY WATERFALLS

Sticky waterfalls, also known as Bua Tong Waterfall, are a little bit out of the city centre of Chiang Mai. The waterfalls are unique and something you can’t find elsewhere. It is something that you need to experience to realize how special it is. The waterfalls are like the name says, sticky.

You can walk upstream easily, and it is a very fun activity to do. You can walk on sticky waterfalls because of the limestone deposits found in the water and on the rocks. The limestone creates a rough and porous surface that provides excellent traction.

You can rent a car and drive yourself there, or you can take a guided tour with Pon Tours. Check the availability here.

4. VISIT POEN RUEDEE NIGHT MARKET AND THE NIGHT BAZAAR

There are so many markets in Chiang Mai that it is hard to choose which ones to visit. One of the best ones is Poen Ruedee Night Market. It is very touristy, but there are a lot of different food options.

Just a few steps away, there is also the Night Bazaar that comes to life in the evenings. The Night Bazaar offers shopping, some restaurants, and if you are lucky, even live music.

5. TAKE A COOKING CLASS IN CHIANG MAI

Thailand is famous for its delicious Thai food. In Chiang Mai, you can take a cooking class and learn so much about ingredients and food preparation. Most of the popular classes have the option to choose what dishes you would like to learn.

You can choose to have a half-day class or a full-day cooking class. My best recommendation is with Grandma’s Home Cooking School. You can check the program here.

6. WAT CHEDI LUANG TEMPLE

Wat Chedi Luang Buddhist temple is right in the Old Town. It is one of the city’s most historically significant and visually impressive temples.

Wat Chedi Luang is home to the city pillar, which is considered to be the spiritual guardian of Chiang Mai. The city pillar is located within a shrine on the temple grounds, and it is an important place for traditional ceremonies and local beliefs. There is also a big gong that you can play by striking it.

7. WAT PHA LAT TEMPLE IN CHIANG MAI

One of the most fascinating temples in Chiang Mai is Wat Pha Lat. The temple’s architecture beautifully blends with the natural surroundings. The temple is surrounded by lush greenery, moss-covered rocks, and a small waterfall. This creates a beautiful atmosphere.

To get there, you can take the Monk’s Trail. The trail is taking you through beautiful nature. It is around a 30-minute forest walk, so we recommend wearing sneakers and do not forget to have a sarong or long pants to cover your legs when you get there.

8. FOOD IN CHIANG MAI

Chiang Mai is a wonderful place if you are a foodie. The city offers a vibrant food scene with many amazing restaurants.

Our favourite dish from this area is the famous Khao Soi. You can find it in most of the traditional restaurants, and it is a dish you cannot skip on your visit to Chiang Mai. Don’t forget to try some delicious desserts like mango sticky rice and coconut ice cream!

9. DAY TRIP TO CHIANG RAI

Chiang Rai is about a 3-hour drive away. The easiest way is to rent a car for the day and go on a road trip, but you have to start early in the morning because the drive is long. You can visit two famous temples: The Blue Temple and The White Temple.

There are also organized tours provided by TripGuru; you can check availability here.

10. THAI MASSAGE

Thailand is famous for its Thai massages. After all the amazing things you can do in Chiang Mai, you have to relax at one of the spas and massage salons in the city.

Our best but most expensive recommendation is to go to Zira Spa. For a mid-range option, you can go to Calm Massage and Spa.

If you are dreaming of an adventure that combines ancient temples, vibrant cities, stunning beaches, and mouthwatering cuisine? Look no further than Thailand – a Southeast Asian gem and this unforgettable 14-day itinerary.

The hardest part for me, when planning a trip, is deciding how many days to spend in each location. I have been to Thailand many times and if you only have 14 nights this is the best itinerary that will help you see the outstanding parts of Thailand.

You get to see the beautiful North of Thailand and truly explore the area. On the same trip, you also get to relax on two of the most beautiful islands in Thailand. With our itinerary, you end your trip with a Bangkok city break where you can do some sightseeing and shopping.

DAY 1-5 ITINERARY: CHIANG MAI, THAILAND – THE CULTURAL GEM

Your Thailand itinerary begins in Chiang Mai. It is a charming city nestled in the mountainous region of northern Thailand. Chiang Mai is known for its rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality. In this city you will find so many amazing things to do.

Usually, your trip starts at Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) Airport. To not lose any extra time I recommend that you take the domestic flight to Chiang Mai right away. Many different airlines are flying back and forth every day so you can find the one which is the best connection for your international flight arrival.

WHAT TO DO IN CHIANG MAI, THAILAND?

There is so much to do and see in Chiang Mai so you could easily spend more than 5 nights in this area.
If you are lucky and you are staying in the city on a Sunday, you have to visit the Sunday market. Thailand is known for its night markets but this one is the best one I have ever visited.

You can also take a half-day or full-day tour at the Elephant Rescue Park. There are many different sanctuaries for Thai elephants but not all of them are good with the elephants.

Visiting temples is a must in Chiang Mai. Our leading temple recommendations to visit are Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Pha Lat, and Wat Umong Suan Putthatham.

Sticky waterfalls are a little bit out of the city centre of Chiang Mai and the waterfalls are unique and something you can’t find elsewhere.

Thailand is famous for its delicious Thai food. In Chiang Mai, you can take a cooking class and learn so much about ingredients and food preparation. There is also a special dish in this part of Thailand called Khao Soi.

WHERE TO STAY IN CHIANG MAI?

Our favourite hotel in the city is Aksara Heritage. The rooms are luxurious and beautifully decorated. The staff is very friendly and there is also a refreshing pool.

DAY 5-9 ITINERARY: KOH PHANGAN, THAILAND – RELAX IN PARADISE

The next destination on your itinerary is Koh Phangan. It is a beautiful island in southeast Thailand.
The island is known for its monthly Full Moon parties, but what most people don’t know is that in the north-western parts of the island, specifically the area around Srithanu beach, you can find a beautiful community of conscious yogis, expats, travellers, and locals that have created a paradise on the island.

WHAT TO DO ON KOH PHANGAN, THAILAND?

In addition to the jungle and beautiful palm trees, the beaches on Koh Phangan are idyllic. The best thing to do on Koh Phangan is to rent a motorbike and explore the island. There is not much else to do than to relax on the beach.

Koh Phangan is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand, with crystal-clear waters and white sand. Some of the most popular beaches include Thong Nai Pan, Zen Beach, Haad Yao, Salad, and Bottle Beach.

If you like to party, then you have to attend a Full Moon Party. Koh Phangan is famous for its Full Moon Party, which takes place on Haad Rin Beach every month.

On Koh Phangan, you can also do some fun hikes. For example, amazing jungle hikes on the island include the Mae Haad Trail, the Than Sadet Waterfall Trail, and a hike to Bottle Beach.

Koh Phangan is home to some of the best yoga, detox, and meditation centres in Thailand, making it the perfect place for health-oriented people.

WHERE TO STAY ON KOH PHANGAN?

We visited Koh Phangan twice, and both times we stayed near Srithanu beach. Without a doubt, this is our favourite part of the island.

Koh Samui is Thailand’s second-largest island and one of the most popular destinations in the country. It is a must-visit in your Thailand itinerary. It has countless beautiful beaches, many delicious cafes, and restaurants where you can find something affordable or expensive to eat.

WHAT TO DO ON KOH SAMUI, THAILAND?

You can visit Koh Samui’s Big Buddha temple, Wat Phra Yai. It is a 12-meter-tall statue of Buddha in a seated position. You can also go and visit the famous Hin Ta and Hin Yai beaches. If you are really into nature, then you do not want to miss Namuang Waterfall.

You have to visit at least one night market during your stay. Fisherman’s Night Market is a great option.

The best place for nightlife on Koh Samui is on Chaweng Beach Road. It is a road that has a similar vibe to Phuket’s Bangla Road. The most important thing that you can do on Koh Samui is to relax on the beach and enjoy a great Thai massage.

You can check our more detailed Koh Samui guide and itinerary here.

WHERE TO STAY ON KOH SAMUI?

If it is within your budget, check out many amazing private pool properties where you can spend your holidays on the island. There are also some great resorts. We absolutely loved our stay at Tropical Season Villa Resort.

DAY 12-14 ITINERARY: BANGKOK, THAILAND – THE BUSTLING CAPITAL

No Thailand itinerary is complete without a visit to Bangkok. It is a vibrant city known for its rich history, cultural landmarks, and nightlife.

WHAT TO DO IN BANGKOK, THAILAND?

Start your trip with a visit to the magnificent Grand Palace and the sacred Wat Phra Kaew, home to the revered Emerald Buddha. If you want to learn more about Thai history and culture, visit the National Museum and take a boat trip along the Chao Phraya River.

Interesting sights are also Wat Phra Chetuphon (Wat Pho) and Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan.

Don’t miss the chance to experience the fun nightlife that Bangkok is famous for. The best thing you can do in the evening is to have a drink at a rooftop bar. Our favourite options are Rooftop Bar Tichuca, Yào Rooftop Bar, and Octave Rooftop Bar.

WHERE TO STAY IN BANGKOK?

We really recommend the amazing Okura Prestige Bangkok Hotel. So far, it was our favourite hotel in Bangkok because of its great hospitality and location.

Chiang Mai is a charming city nestled in northern Thailand. The city is known for its rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality. Chiang Mai offers you a blend of traditional and modern experiences.

The Old City of Chiang Mai is full of narrow streets filled with temples, traditional houses, and vibrant markets. You can stroll around the old town on foot or hop on a bicycle to discover hidden gems at your own pace.

WHERE TO STAY IN CHIANG MAI?

The city has many excellent hotels, but our top favourite choice is Aksara Heritage. The rooms are luxurious, and the staff is fantastic. There is also a beautiful pool. It is a true oasis right in the Old City.

VEGAN FOOD IN CHIANG MAI

Chiang Mai is a wonderful place if you are a vegan foodie. The city offers a vibrant vegan food scene with many amazing restaurants.

Don’t forget to try some delicious traditional snacks like mango sticky rice and coconut ice cream!

PURE VEGAN HEAVEN

It is a vegan restaurant located between Wat Umong Suan Phutthatham and Baan Kand Wat art village, so it is in an excellent location for lunch between sightseeing.

They have a great variety of food. You can choose between poke bowls, wraps, pasta, and many others. I tried rice curry, and it was very good.

GOODSOULS KITCHEN

It is a nice vegan restaurant in the Old Town. We stopped there for breakfast, but you can also have lunch and dinner.

They have vegan pizza, burgers, wraps, and traditional Thai dishes. We tried tofu scramble and oats.

AUM VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT

It is one of my favourite choices in the city because the atmosphere and food are amazing. The prices are also very affordable and most of the things are vegan.

Their menu is wide with many different healthy dishes and juices to choose from. I had my beloved dish, Khao Soi.

REFORM VEGAN CAFÉ

It is a vegan garden restaurant and plant-based hotel in Chiang Mai. It has an amazing atmosphere, and the food is delicious. You can go there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They have Asian dishes as well as some of the Western favourites.

It was the first restaurant where I tried Khao Soi in Chiang Mai, and it blew my mind how something can be so delicious. From that moment on I ate Khao Soi everywhere I could find it vegan. It is a traditional Northern Thailand dish.

V SECRET VEGAN CHIANG MAI

The restaurant is in the Poen Ruedee night market. You can choose from different dishes like Pomelo salad, drunken noodles, rice noodles with cream curry, cabbage rolls, and many more.

RAD RABBIT VEGAN PIZZERIA

It is the first fully vegan Western restaurant and pizzeria in Chiang Mai. For starters, you can have cauliflower wings, sweet potato fries, garlic bread, and bruschetta.

They have various pizzas, sandwiches, and wraps. You can even build your own vegan pizza.

CHADA VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT CHIANG MAI

It is a vegetarian restaurant with many vegan options. You can choose between traditional Thai dishes like Pad Thai, Fried rice, Massaman, Green curry, and many more.

Thailand is the destination for foodies and Chiang Mai won’t leave you disappointed.

HOW TO GET TO CHIANG MAI

Usually, your trip starts at Suvarnabhumi (Bangkok) airport which has the best connections for travelling in Thailand. I recommend that you take the domestic flight to Chiang Mai right away.

Many different airlines are flying back and forth every day so you can find the one which has the best connection for your international flight arrival. Chiang Mai is also well connected with other parts of Thailand.

WHAT TO DO IN CHIANG MAI?

There is so much to do and see in Chiang Mai. If you are not a beach person, you could easily spend more than 5 nights in this area. If you have more time, you could stay in Chiang Mai for weeks.

The Elephant Rescue Park was built especially for elephants that live with them permanently. They purchase and rescue elephants from places like circuses, the logging industry, mistreatment camps, hardworking sites, and unfortunate accidents.

You have half-day tours and full-day tours. It is not the cheapest activity, but it is worth it. Here is the official website. There are many different sanctuaries for Thai elephants, but not all of them are good.

Sticky waterfalls are a little bit out of the city centre of Chiang Mai. The waterfalls are like the name says, sticky. You can walk upstream easily. This is a very unique experience you cannot skip.

MARKETS IN CHIANG MAI

The number one thing you have to do in Chiang Mai is to visit the Sunday Night Market. Thailand is known for its night markets, but this one is the best one we have ever visited. The market is every Sunday.

At this market, you will be able to find the most delicious vegan Thai food, souvenirs, and massages. There are so many tourists and locals enjoying the evening.

There are so many other markets in Chiang Mai. It is hard to choose which ones to visit. One of the best ones is Poen Ruedee Night Market. It is very touristy, but there are a lot of different food varieties and vegan options. Just a few steps away, there is also the Night Bazaar.

TEMPLES IN CHIANG MAI

There are so many different temples in and around the city. Wat Chedi Luang Buddhist temple is right in the Old Town.

One of the most fascinating temples in Chiang Mai is Wat Pha Lat, and to get there,e you can take the Monk’s trail. The trail is taking you through beautiful nature. It is around a 30-minute walk, so I recommend you go in sneakers.

Nearby is also a temple called Wat Umong Suan Putthatham, which is worth visiting, and when you are in the area, you can also go to the Baan Kang Wat art village.

DAY TRIP TO CHIANG RAI

Chiang Rai is about a 3-hour drive away. The easiest way is to rent a car for the day and go on a road trip. There are two famous temples you can visit: The Blue Temple and The White Temple. There are also organized tours provided by TripGuru; you can check availability here.

You can also drive to the Golden Triangle, but it is a lot of extra driving if you are visiting for only one day.

Thailand is famous for its delicious Thai food. In Chiang Mai, you can take a cooking class and learn so much about ingredients and food preparation. Most of the popular classes have the option to choose vegan recipes, but just to be sure, check before booking.

In conclusion, Chiang Mai is a paradise for vegan food lovers. The city offers a wide range of vegan options, from traditional Thai dishes to international cuisine. You will definitely not be hungry here!

Koh Phangan is a beautiful island in southeast Thailand. It is a popular destination for vegan travellers seeking delicious and healthy plant-based options. With an abundance of fresh produce, tropical fruits, and a thriving vegan community, Koh Phangan has become a vegan paradise.

The island is known for its monthly Full Moon parties, but what most people don’t know is that in the north-western parts of the island, specifically the area around Srithanu beach, you can find a beautiful community of conscious yogis, expats, travellers, and locals that have created a vegan paradise on the island.

If you’re a vegan looking to explore Thailand, Koh Phangan should definitely be on your list of must-visit destinations.

WHERE TO STAY ON KOH PHANGAN

We visited Koh Phangan twice, and both times we stayed near Srithanu beach. Without a doubt, this is our favourite part of the island, and most of the vegan restaurants are in this area.

There are many different types of accommodation, such as affordable hostels or fancy private pool villas. You can check all the best accommodations and private pool villas here.

VEGAN FOOD ON KOH PHANGAN

Koh Phangan has a growing number of vegan restaurants that offer delicious and healthy options for plant-based eaters. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick bite or a full meal, there’s something for everyone on this beautiful island.

WHAT’S CUP – KOH PHANGAN VEGAN OPTION

It was our favourite breakfast spot on Koh Phangan. It has a big terrace with an amazing view. The restaurant is very popular, therefore, sometimes you will have to wait a little bit for a table.

On their menu, you can find different types of smoothies and smoothie bowls. You can have a porridge bowl, or granola with coconut yoghurt, avocado toast without egg, and a fruit bowl. I really loved their smoothie bowls and coffee with oat milk.

JAJA’S VEGAN

It is a small vegan stand located on the side of the main road. It offers a variety of Thai dishes at affordable prices.

FRIENDSHIP CONCEPT – MEATLESS GRILL

It is a very popular vegetarian burger restaurant where every burger can be made vegan. We tried two different burgers, and they were the best vegan burgers that we have ever tried.

The restaurant also has a great atmosphere and live music in the evenings.

KARMA CAFÉ KOH PHANGAN VEGAN

Karma Kafe is a vegan and vegetarian restaurant. Their menu features a variety of vegan dishes, including salads, wraps, burgers, and smoothie bowls. My favourite was their sushi.

They also have a selection of desserts and drinks, including smoothies and fresh juices. The restaurant has a laid-back atmosphere and is perfect for a casual lunch or dinner.

STREET VEGAN HOUSE

It is a well-known restaurant on Koh Phangan. The restaurant offers a wide range of vegan dishes, including gnocchi, lasagne, poke bowl, and our favourite Northern Thailand dish called Khao Soi.
Everything tasted delicious.

DELI DEVI – KOH PHANGAN VEGAN CAFE

It is a vegan café that makes its own plant-based cheese. It is one of the best breakfast spots in Koh Phangan.

We did not have a chance to try their vegan cheese, but we definitely will the next time we are visiting. I had a great smoothie bowl for breakfast.

EAT.CO ON KOH PHANGAN VEGAN

Is a vegan restaurant on Koh Phangan. We have mixed feelings about it, because the place looks really nice, and the loaded fries were delicious, but the ramen was not our favourite. If you like the menu, you should definitely give it a try.

PURE VEGAN HEAVEN

Pure Vegan Heaven is a restaurant chain with locations in Koh Phangan, Phuket, Chiang Mai, and Koh Samui. In pure vegan heaven, you can have a smoothie bowl, breakfast burrito, poke bowls, wraps, sandwiches, and Thai food.

They have two locations on the island, we visited the one in Phangan food court.

ORION CAFÉ – KOH PHANGAN VEGAN FRIENDLY

Orion Cafe is located inside the Orion Healing Center. The cafe offers smoothies, fresh juices, elixirs, and dishes made with superfoods. The cafe is known for being vegan-friendly with raw and gluten-free options.

Their menu is wide with different breakfast options like chia pudding, smoothie bowl, oats, pancakes, and tofu scramble. For lunch, you can have a salad or a healthy veggie bowl. Their main dishes include ravioli, ramen, pesto pasta, and many more.

These are just a few of the many vegan restaurants. Whether you are a vegan or simply looking for healthy and delicious food options, Koh Phangan has something to offer for everyone.

WHAT TO DO ON KOH PHANGAN

In addition to the vast jungle and beautiful palm trees, the beaches on Koh Phangan are idyllic. The best thing to do on Koh Phangan is to rent a motorbike and explore the island.

One of our best memories of the island is the cooking class that we took at C&M Culture Center. Taking a cooking class is a fantastic way to learn more about Thailand’s food culture. They showed us how to cook traditional Thai dishes in a vegan way.

It is known for music, dancing, and a colourful atmosphere. On the other hand, if you miss the Full Moon party, there is also a Half Moon Party.

Koh Phangan’s lush jungles are home to stunning waterfalls, hidden lagoons, and breathtaking views. For example, some of the best jungle hikes on the island include the Mae Haad Trail, the Than Sadet Waterfall Trail, and the hike to the Bottle Beach.

HEALTH RETREATS

Koh Phangan is home to some of the best yoga, detox, and meditation centres in Thailand, making it the perfect place for health-oriented people. The island is home to yoga studios, wellness centres, and other health-conscious businesses.

For those looking for a unique experience, Koh Phangan is also home to a number of vegan and raw food retreats. These retreats offer visitors the opportunity to disconnect from the stresses of everyday life and reconnect with their body and mind through, for example, vegan cuisine, yoga, and meditation.

If you want to experience everything the island has to offer, you could stay there for months. As a result, it is a very popular destination among digital nomads.

WHERE TO WATCH THE SUNSET

Watching the sunset every evening is a must on Koh Phangan. If you really want to experience the heart and soul of Koh Phangan, watch the sunset at Zen Beach. The Zen Beach is a popular spot for yoga and meditation enthusiasts, who come to practice as the sun sets over the horizon. The stunning views and tranquil ambiance make it the perfect place to be.

Our favourite sunset was at the 2nd Floor-Sunset Bar. It is just above the beach with a beautiful view directly at the sunset and with great cocktails.

420 Club is one of the places where you can watch the sunset from the top of the hill. The place offers a unique experience that combines stunning views with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The 420 Club is a popular spot for travellers and locals alike to gather and enjoy the beauty of the sunset.

In conclusion, it is not a surprise that Koh Phangan is one of the most popular destinations in Thailand. It is really a destination you have to put on your bucket list. It has everything a perfect tropical destination needs: a beautiful jungle, turquoise beaches, and numerous vegan restaurants.

WHERE TO STAY IN PHUKET

Phuket is quite big, so we decided to split our stay into two different locations. Because of that, we were able to see more of the island.

For the first part of our time in Phuket, we stayed in an Airbnb near Kamala Beach. And for the second part of our holidays, we stayed on Kata Beach. We stayed at the Chanalai Flora Resort, and it was great. We liked both locations very much because there is so much to see everywhere you are in Phuket.

Check out Booking.com for the best hotels in the area.

PHUKET VEGAN RESTAURANTS

The food in Thailand is always amazing, and Phuket has some great vegan restaurants. Phuket is a great island to visit in Thailand. The best way to get around is by renting a motorbike or a car, so you have all the freedom to explore.

GO VEGAN CAFÉ PHUKET

It is a vegan restaurant located in Rawai among the popular tourist shops. They are offering a Western-style menu with Asian twists.

It is a chain of vegan restaurants in Thailand. You can find them all over the country, like in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Chiang Mai, and Phuket. The restaurant provides healthy vegan dishes, including vegan burgers, wraps, bowls, and pasta.

FRUIT FUSION SUPERFOOD CAFÉ & SHOP

Vegan smoothie bowls are our favourite thing to eat for breakfast in a tropical destination like Phuket. This is the only smoothie bowl in Phuket where they put your name on your bowl if you ask them to.

If a smoothie bowl is not your thing, you can also grab avocado toast for breakfast!

SOUL PHUKET VEGAN

Soul Phuket is an amazing plant-based restaurant that cares about the well-being of nature. They take feeding others as a big responsibility, and they know that with the right food, they can provide health and happiness.

They have a great variety of breakfasts like toast, gluten-free pancakes, and smoothie bowls. For mains, you can order pizza and pasta. They also offer a special menu for Asian cuisine, which is our favourite. Do not forget to try their selection of vegan desserts.

SANTOSA PHUKET VEGAN RESTAURANT

Santosa restaurant in Phuket serves modern vegan and raw food. The restaurant is located in the detox & wellness centre. Besides the delicious food, the restaurant also offers an amazing view.

VEGANECESSITY CAFÉ PHUKET

It is a vegan café restaurant in Phuket. They offer smoothie bowls, cakes, pancakes, and coffee for breakfast. You can also get a Buddha bowl, salads, sandwiches, wraps, and many more.

THE VEGAN TABLE PHUKET

It is the tastiest award-winning vegan restaurant located in the heart of Old Town Phuket. You have to try their breakfast because they have many different options like scrambled tofu, vegan pancakes, coconut chia seed pudding, and many more.

For lunch and dinner, you can have pizza, a burger, a wrap, pasta, and Asian dishes. Do not forget about the dessert!

OUR FAVOURITE SMOOTHIE BOWL IN PHUKET

We actually do not remember the name of this smoothie bar. It is offering fruits, smoothies, and smoothie bowls near the Nai Han beach and the parking lot. It was our favourite smoothie bowl in Phuket, and we just loved to enjoy it while visiting the Nai Han beach.

WHAT TO SEE IN PHUKET

Our favourite daily trip in Phuket is visiting the Monkey Hill viewpoint. It is situated near Phuket Old Town and is a free tourist attraction. You can walk uphill and interact with the monkeys that are living there. You also get a great view from the top.

Phuket Old Town is a historic city centre worth visiting, and it is conveniently located near the Monkey Hill viewpoint. It has many small shops, restaurants, and cafes that you can check out.

Phuket is probably most famous for its Bangla Road in Patong. It is a street whose only purpose is to offer the best nightlife and parties on the island.

There are countless bars and discos on both sides of the street. You can go and check out Ping pong shows, which are tourist shows specifically famous in Thailand.

You can go and visit night markets and try to find something vegan to eat. One of the things to see in Phuket is the Big Buddha, a 45-metre-high statue of Buddha.

Like all other Thailand destinations, Phuket has fantastic and affordable massage salons, and you should check out at least a few of them.

BEST BEACHES IN PHUKET

One of the best things to do when visiting Phuket is to go on a one-day trip to the Phi Phi Islands. We booked our trip with Simba Sea Trips, and could not recommend them more.

The guides were very friendly, and they made sure that all the food we ate on our trip was vegan. It was not just a boring vegan meal; the food was delicious! They take you to see the famous Maya Bay, and at the end of the day, you stop at Coconut Island for dinner. You can check the availability here.

We visited many beaches in Phuket, but the best one was Freedom Beach. You have to walk down the hill to get to it, but it is worth it. It is clear,n and the water is turquoise.

There is also an option to rent a boat taxi to get to the beach because the hike back up can be quite challenging in the tropical heat.

Nai Han Beach is also a great beach to visit in Phuket. The waves are strong, so it is not the best for swimming, but it is a great beach for surfers or just to play in the waves.

For an unforgettable experience in Phuket, we recommend getting on a Luxury sunset cruise with Seanery. You can check the available days here.

Koh Samui, the second-largest island in Thailand, has many amazing beaches. There are plenty of tasty vegan cafes and restaurants, offering affordable or fancier options. Koh Samui also has lots of fun things to do, whether you like to party or prefer peace and quiet.

When you arrive at the airport, you’ll feel like you’re in paradise. The whole Koh Samui airport is outdoors and tropical, making a great first impression.

WHERE TO STAY ON KOH SAMUI?

We had an incredible stay at the Tropical Season Villa Resort. The resort offers private pool villas nestled in the jungle. While it is a bit off the main road, the location is perfect for a tropical getaway, and everything remains easily accessible by car or motorbike.

Our villa was very well equipped with a kitchen, a living room, and a beautiful bedroom. They even provide a free Netflix account. The highlight for us was the private pool. We loved spending some of our days just relaxing at our villa in the heart of the jungle. You can check the availability here. Check the availability on Booking.com.

There are also more affordable options on Koh Samui, such as Palm Coco Mantra, situated directly at the beach with amazing reviews, or even more luxurious options like Melia Koh Samui, which is considered one of the best accommodations on the island.

BEST VEGAN RESTAURANTS ON KOH SAMUI

PLUNKTONE CAFE

Plunktone Cafe is our favourite spot for breakfast or lunch on Koh Samui. The food they prepare is not only delicious but also healthy and nutritious, as every ingredient is carefully selected. The restaurant has an amazing vibe and decor with a beautiful view of the lake.

One of the best things to order for breakfast is the Cocoa Chia Pudding, served with banana, coconut yogurt, and mango puree. All their coffee can be enjoyed with almond, oat, or soy milk, and the coffee beans are sourced from Chiang Mai.

For lunch, you must try their amazing bowls. Our favourite is the Tempeh bowl served with fresh avocado, brown rice, and vegetables. You can also try their Mexican burrito wrap, and they even offer vegan-friendly wines!

While Plunktone Cafe is not fully vegan, it provides a variety of amazing options. It is a cafe where both vegan and non-vegan groups can enjoy a delicious meal together. You can check their fantastic menu here.

Vikasa Life Cafe, located on the beautiful island of Koh Samui, serves a healthy menu. They offer a mix of vegan, international, fusion, and non-vegetarian dishes, using organic produce whenever possible. Besides the delicious vegan food, the best part about this restaurant is the view.

For breakfast, you can enjoy probiotic superfood smoothie bowls, chia jars, smoothies, and even tofu scramble—our favourite breakfast choice. For lunch, you can try their vegan bowls, different main dishes, and healthy desserts.

HALAPUA PLANT-BASED RESTAURANT

Halapua Plant-Based Restaurant serves a special vegan menu that mixes flavors from Sicily and Asia. They make their dishes using Asian tastes, Sicilian recipes, and fresh local ingredients.

The restaurant’s way of serving food is inspired by Italian Agriturismo traditions. They choose what’s growing on the farm, making sure it’s fresh and in season. The restaurant is not just tasty but also charming, with a nice view of Koh Samui Island.

BEACH COCONUT BOWLS

At Beach Coconut Bowls, the food is organic and does not have artificial preservatives, additives, or refined sugars. Everything they serve on Koh Samui is fresh, natural, and without dairy.

They are famous for their beautiful vegan smoothie bowls, and all their food looks really nice.

PURE VEGAN HEAVEN KOH SAMUI

At Pure Vegan Heaven Koh Samui, they serve 100% plant-based food that is healthy, fresh, and delicious. They aim to create a menu and atmosphere that promote both community health and sustainability.

You will find a variety of options on their menu, including vegan Thai food, wraps, sandwiches, gluten-free pasta, and tasty healthy bowls. They also have all-day breakfast choices like a burrito, granola, and smoothie bowls.

WILD TRIBE CAFÉ

At Wild Tribe Superfood Café, they serve healthy and vegan options sourced locally and, when possible, organically. They offer cold-pressed juices and delicious breakfast items like tofu scramble, pancakes, smoothie bowls, and Buddha bowls.

For lunch, you can choose from salads, burgers, and other main dishes with superfoods. They also have vegan Thai cuisine and desserts.

TWO SISTER BURGER

At Two Sister Burger on Koh Samui, they offer vegan options like burgers, wraps, and sandwiches. Our favourite is the tofu scramble for breakfast.

THE HUNGRY WOLF KOH SAMUI

The Hungry Wolf is a European restaurant famous for burgers and pizza. They also offer a wide range of options, including Thai food, pasta, and healthy choices. Plus, they have a separate vegan menu.

The vegan menu includes different kinds of vegan burgers, pizza, pasta, wraps, and burritos.

GREENLIGHT CAFÉ ON KOH SAMUI

Greenlight Café offers a mix of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free meals, as well as traditional options. They use mostly local and organic ingredients, some from their garden in Koh Samui.

For breakfast, they have various vegan options like a coconut granola bowl, chia pudding, and tofu scramble. You can also have mushrooms on toast or a vegan cheese plate. They serve different salads and healthy bowls for the main course, and there are tasty vegan desserts too.

HOW TO GET AROUND KOH SAMUI?

The best way to explore any Thai island is by renting a motorbike. It’s easy and gives you the freedom to go wherever and whenever you want. Another good choice is to rent a car. If you’re not into motorbikes, simply rent a taxi or use Grab, as public transportation isn’t the most convenient.”

There are many exciting things to do on Koh Samui. Visit the Samui Elephant Sanctuary, the first ethical sanctuary on the island. Thanks to support, they opened a second facility allowing more rescued elephants to live with dignity and respect. During their tour, they offer a light vegetarian meal, including vegan options, and fresh fruit.

Explore Koh Samui’s Big Buddha temple, Wat Phra Yai, with its 12-meter-tall, seated Buddha statue. Check out the famous Hin Ta and Hin Yai beaches. Nature lovers shouldn’t miss the stunning Namuang Waterfall.
But the most important thing to do on Koh Samui is to relax and enjoy the beautiful beaches and nature.

Koh Samui truly is the perfect destination. I believe everyone can find something for themselves here, whether traveling on a tight budget or enjoying a luxurious vacation. Moreover, it is one of those tropical destinations where finding vegan food is not a problem.
